SCNRCdeploys a wide range of sophisticated software and hardware in the acquisition of resident, patient, and responsible party information. Our facilities communicate to centralized secure database servers dedicated to Skilled Nursing Home and Hospital environments.  
 
Through the use of firewall secured Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) over high speed internet connections using a number of transmission protocols, our facilities use state-of-the-art desktop and laptop computers to collect, track, and report vital care data, medical records, and billing and claim data.  
 
Through this interconnectivity SCNRC is able to achieve industry leading care and business office performance. Privilege based computer systems protect and secure each patients information to HIPPA compliance. Our system has proven high reliability and uptime. SCNRCs Information Systems will be integrated into existing systems or in the event of new construction design the infrastructure required for secure state-of-the-art information management system.  
 
Radiology and imaging data is transmitted to specialist through dedicated very high speed connections via secure networks to ensure timely delivery and response for the patient. SCNRC operates redundant internet connectivity and maintains separate networks for diagnosis data.

Application and Data Criticality Assessment 
SCNRC facilities perform a review of their hardware, software, and personnel to determine what items are considered to be core items for their business. These items are documented and copies stored off-site. 
 
Contingency Planning 
Our facilities have plans in place to cover natural and man-made disasters, personnel issues, and computer and network issues or failures. These plans are more than scholarly exercises for SCNRC. SCNRC operated facilities on the Mississippi Gulf Coast were impacted by Hurricane Katrina and through the implementation of contingency planning and disaster recovery planning minimal impact to the ability to care for our residents and the ability to submit timely billing information occurred. 
 
Disaster Recovery Plan 
SCNRC's plan covers all the specific details of recovering from a major event, as outlined in contingency planning. There are many different potential disasters, such as fire, flood, hardware failure, etc. and several different plans are required to cover multiple events. SCNRC maintains off-site data backups, and copies of core business software. SCNRCmaintains support contracts with major vendors to ensure the availability and reliability of our Information Systems.  
 
Off-Site Data Backup Plan 
 
Patient and business data is backed up to a secure off-site location on a daily basis. SCNRC integrates a rigorous backup methodology, including daily, weekly, bi-monthly and monthly backups. These are in addition to any computer backups that are done and stored at the office.
